Yonggungsa Temple

Hyeji decided to come to Emo's house after her study group today. She arrived around 2:20pm, and then we left to take a bus to Gijahng-dong, where we walked on a dirt road, that sometimes smelled like cow manure, to Yonggungsa Temple. It was so serene, peaceful, and beautiful. The temple was set on the edge of the sea, alongside beautiful rocks. What a perfect location to experience the ocean breeze. Of course, before entering the temple, I had to rub Buddha's belly for good luck. Well, ok, its really for good luck in having a baby, but oh well.

By this time, I've seen many-a-people bow to the statue of Buddha, and it seems very good for your body, so I thought I'd give it a go. I took off my shoes atop this mountain, and used a special mat to bow. Little do they know I was just practicing yoga. It's similar to a Sun Salutation. Monks must bow 3,000 times.... Later, Hyeji and I asked this girl to take a picture of us with some golden pigs, and we both noticed that her boyfriend snuck a shot of the foreigner, me, while she was doing so. It was kinda funny. In fact, Hyeji has gotten lots of special treatment because she is walking around with me. Weird, eh? I'm not that great.

Check out facebook! Pictures to come......
